Manchester City 0 - 2 Barcelona (Messi Pen 54', Alves 90')
It was an anticipated win for Barca, but City going down to 10 men when Demichelis was sent off for a foul on Messi, which after replays was shown to be just outside the box was given as a penalty, which the world class Lionel Messi converted from the spot. Kompany was the only player that really kept City from falling apart, with his brilliant captains instinct and solid defending, he formed the heart of the defense for the home side, and was in my opinion the man of the match.

Bayer Levekusen 0 - 4 Paris Saint Germain (Matuidi 3', Ibrahomovic 39'(Pen) 42', Cabaye 88')
As one of the richest clubs in football, PSG have a world class squad which pose a threat to any defense in the world with Ibrahimovic in the form he's in there's no stopping him at the moment, he is scoring for fun. He is the UEFA Champions League top scorer, and he added to his tally tonight, with a peach of a goal from outside the box. Cabaye got himself on the score sheet with his first goal for the club, the former Newcastle man is yet to fully fit in to the world of PSG football, but getting himself on the scoresheet will give him a good confidence boost, and the quality of player that he is, will be the first of many at PSG.

Transfers
One of the less surprising transfers of the January transfer window, was Yohan Cabaye to PSG. The transfer rumored at £19 million, some would say is expensive for the player that he is, but people who watch the BPL every week will know that Cabaye is worth every penny of that £19 million, he works at the heart of midfield, and at PSG will be a good partner for club and country to Matuidi, who is a very promising young prospect. The French national team aren't short of world class midfielders - Matuidi, Valbuena, Nasri, Cabaye and of course Pogba. Overall, a very good signing for PSG, but sadly for Newcastle, so far without him, their foreseeable future doesn't look too good for Alan Pardew and the squad.
The biggest transfer for the BPL in the january transfer window came on 26th when Juan Mata completed his move the Manchester United, it wasn't really a surprise that the Spain international left Chelsea, because under Jose Mourinho he wasn't getting played as much as a player of his quality really should. Getting player of the season two seasons in a row at Stamford Bridge it's no surprise that one of the big clubs swooped in to seal the deal on the 25 year old midfielder. He is a club recored signing for United with a fee of £37 million. He is a very good signing for the Manchester club, and is the kind of player they need to even try and start to turn their season around. Personally i don't even think signing a player of Mata's capability is enough for David Moyes' side to turn this awful season around. As a Chelsea fan Mata will be sorely missed, but with the quality at The Bridge, Mourinho obviously didn't feel that he could play in his way, or improve his side anymore than Oscar, or Willian, and with Hazard in the form that he's in, he is one of the best players in the Premier League, so if Jose felt that he didn't need Mata, letting him go was the best thing he could do as a manager.
Some smaller transfers in the Premier League -
Wildfred Zaha - Cardiff City on loan, Brought by Manchester United from Crystal Palace, after being deemed to be a very good young prospect, but at Old Trafford didn't seem to shine as much as all the rumors made out he would, good signing for Cardiff, and a good move for Zaha, as playing at a smaller club than United with less quality, he will get more game time and be able to improve his skills and experience in the Premier League and could maybe return to United in a few seasons a brand new player, but only time will tell.
Peter Odemwingie - Stoke involved in a swap deal involving Kenwin Jones, Odemwingie is an experienced Premier League player, so not a bad signing for a club fighting to stay out of the religation zone, but i don't think he is really what stoke need, they need a tall striker to fit into the style of football they play. They like to 'Hoof' the ball up to a strong tall striker (Peter Crouch), but playing along side Crouch, could be a good CF/CAM to just sit in behind Crouch and get all of his headed passes and flick-ons.
Adel Taraabt - AC Milan, Taraabt moved to Fulham on loan in the summer but on the 30th January completed his move to Italian giants AC Milan, he is a very skill-full CAM with a lot to offer to the team, when he is playing it his best there is a select amount of defenders that can stop him successfully, so with Ac Milan not playing their best football, he is a good young player who can bring a lot to a teams midfield and attack.
Kevin De-Bruyne - Wolfsburg for a undisclosed fee, Chelsea brought him knowing that he had a good record and was promising, sadly a bit like Juan Mata he was hardly played, and when there's players of their quality sitting on the bench, you can't expect them to stay and just be bench warmers, De-Bruyne did score a couple of goals at Chelsea but didn't get the time and pantience he deserved.

Fixtures
Some very good looking fixtures coming up in the Champions league -
Arsenal vs Bayern Munich
Chelsea vs Galatasary
Zenit vs Dortmund
Barcelona vs Manchester City
These are all looking to be some very good fixtures, Drogba coming back to Stamford bridge for the first time since leaving, Arsenal vs Bayern Munich was a very tasty fixture last season at both stadiums, and with the form of both the clubs this season it is shaping up to be a goal filled fixture.
